What I am actually saying is that we need to be willing to let our intuition guide us, and then be willing to follow that guidance directly and fearlessly.

Mediumship FAQ

What's the difference between a medium and a psychic?

A medium serves as a channel for communication for the other side, beit loved ones or spirit guides. And while a medium can be intuitive (clairsentience), a psychic is sensitive only on an intuitive level as with remote viewing or predictive work and does not get their messages from those on the other side. The line is a fine one, and many have both abilities calling themselves psychic mediums. Some prefer the word "intuitive" now rather than "psychic" due the stigma con artists have left to the word.

How does a medium communicate?

There are 4 basic categories that defines specific mediumship talents.

  • clairaudience - extrasensory data perceived as sound

  • clairscent - extrasensory data perceived as taste

  • clairsentience - extrasensory data perceived as feeling or awareness

  • clairvoyance - extrasensory data perceived as heightened sight.

What is channeling?

This is the method of communication where a medium is the go-between for this side and the other. There are several types of channeling. One is trance channeling where a medium will completely go "out" and allow a spirit to use the body, most specifically the voice. This is also referred to as physical mediumship and should only be done in a controlled environment with other mediums or knowledgeable people present. This method is not usually done for readings, but mediumship demonstratons are often done in group settings or what is called a circle. There is also light mediumship where the medium will receive data in the fully awakened state. This method is most common for readings. Automatic writing/spirit writing is also a form of channeling as well as reiki and universal hands-on/hands-off healing where healthy energies are channeled through the medium's body into the client. In light mediumship, tools are sometimes used, depending what works best for an individual.

Can anyone be a medium channel or do you have to be born to it?

We are all born with a unique gift. It is up to us to develop that gift. Some have the advantage of discovery at an early age and some advance farther than others. Some find their gift in clairvoyance, and others as intuitives. Through meditation, your gift can be realized. Group study can further enhance the development of your abilities.

What does spirituality have to do with mediumship?

These often come hand-in-hand for multiple reasons. Studying spirituality only often enhances your intuitive side because you are opening up to communication that you may not even realize. Studying mediumship first can also bring an interest of spirituality to the fore front because of your new communication with the spirit world.
